There are so many ways to make noise

You can squawk, crow and shriek with joy

Tap dance across a wooden floor

Holler: Hey, I want some more!

Bang the drums, beat the pots

Chatterboxes talk a lot

Sing a song, pop a balloon

Clink a glass with your spoon

Cannonball with an enormous splash

Clap your hands in an audience

Fart, burp, snap your fingers

Which one makes a smell that lingers?

Tell a joke, roar with laughter

That rises to the tallest rafters

Have a fight, stomp upstairs

Slam the door 'cause you don't care

Kick your ball against the wall

Bump a shelf, make things fall

Have loads of fun with your friends

Convince them to start a band

Plug in your electric guitar

Make it wail, be a star

Honk your own horn, ring your own bell

Shout your own name, jump and yell

H-angrily scream for a huge ice cream

Play a match, cheer for your team

Skateboard down an empty street

Whistle at everyone you meet

Blend dough with a mixer

Hammer a nail, be a fixer

Protest injustice with your voice

Rally for an important choice

But sometimes I like to be quiet too

I daydream and wonder the afternoon through

Because when I’m quiet I hear me

I close my eyes and really see
